Trading For Dummies by CHES Start free

One decision. Every account.

A trade copier sends each order from a lead account to your other accounts, so one decision is not retyped five times. Here is how it works, what to check first, and the copier Ches uses.

How it works

Lead and followers

  1. One lead accountYou place the trade here, exactly as you would on a single account.
  2. Follower accountsThe copier sends each order to the followers. Size can be the same or scaled per account.
  3. Check every accountDelays and partial fills can make follower results differ slightly, and a follower can disconnect and miss a stop update. Look at every account after each trade.

Before you connect anything

The firm rules to check

Every firm sets its own. Read them on the firm’s own rules page. Rules, prices and discounts change often: check the current rules on their site before you buy.

  • Maximum accounts per trader. Firms cap it (on 3 November 2026 Tradeify’s home page showed a maximum of 5 on some funded cards).
  • Copying between your own accounts is usually allowed at futures firms. Copying between different traders usually is not.
  • Hedging (long on one account, short on another) is commonly banned.
  • Contract limits apply per account, after the copier’s sizing.

The honest part

A copier multiplies the bad days too

  • Five accounts at 1R is a 5R decision. One rule break costs five times.
  • Different floors. Each account can sit at a different distance from its drawdown. Size each one so it survives.
  • Earn the right to more accounts. Only add accounts after one account runs cleanly for weeks, the same way you would earn the right to size up.

Results not guaranteed. Not financial advice. Trading futures and CFDs carries a high risk of loss and is not right for everyone; only trade money you can afford to lose. A prop firm evaluation is a product you buy: passing it is not guaranteed and a funded account can be lost. Nothing here is a promise of payouts or income.
